Pacific Valve Audio gd DAC 3SE

From Audio gd comes a performance statement on solid state DACs. Dual power supplies, 4
PCM1704UK DACs, Diamond Differential topology and jitter reducing circuit to as low as 20 PS!, make
the DAC 3SE a state-of-the-art DAC at an incredible price. The DAC's functions are: Power on/ off
switch, Coax and BNC inputs, RCA outputs and clear / soft switch.
Voltage stabilization is a key part to the Audio gd’s DAC 3SE sound. 18 independent voltage regulators
supply power to the dual DAC modules. 150 Watts of transformer power along with 40,000 UF of
capacitance complete its amp-like qualities. The transformers are shielded between heavy aluminum
sheets so IM waves will not interfere with the conversion process.
Low jitter is achieved through a modification to the DIR9001 circuit which reduces it to 20PS. Most of the
high end DACs on the market today, those costing in the 2K – 4K range can have jitter as high as 200PS.
The Audio gd DAC 3SE decodes HDCD as well as red book. The front and side plates are made with a
thick black aluminum alloy that is 5MM to 8MMK thick, The front face plate 12MM.
The clear / soft switch alters the sound of the DAC 3SE from clear to soft. The soft mode is for speakers
or amps that may be a little bright as the DSAC 3SE is dead neutral throughout the range and import
tube liquid like qualities in the midrange. The clear setting articulates the midrange and high end and
lets the detail on your CDs come through with the greatest of ease.
