Pacific Valve Audio gd Reference 1 DAC
Product Details
From Audio gd comes their “statement” DAC, the Audio gd Ref 1, with SPDIF and BNC
inputs, RCA, Balanced and SATRI outputs. The REF 1 uses 8 PCM1704UK codecs in a
dual mono design, DSP processing and low noise, low jitter input receiver.
The dual mono design uses a built in DSP-1 processor, which acts as a Two-channel
Digital Interpolation Filter and data in-phase processor. DSPs offer advanced features for
high-performance digital signal processing with low jitter. These dual DSPs feed a total of
8 PCM1704UK converter chips (4 per channel) for the clean, open sound.
The outputs stage use Audio gd’s ACSS output configuration for low noise and expert
filtering during the conversion process. The power supply uses up to 50,000 mfd of
filtering through British NOVER caps. The Audio gd REF 1 weights approximately 37 lbs
and has dimensions of 19” X 17” X 5”
