Pacific Valve Bada Purer 3.3SE
Product Details
An integrated amp with great build and sound quality. The Bada Purer 3.3SE combines high quality
components with accuracy, detail and warmth while driving very difficult loads to earth shattering
levels. In addition to this, the Bada Purer 3.3SE has unique features that allow the operating and
sound characteristics to be changed to deliver true audiophile tonal balance and sound quality at a
reasonable price.
The Bada Purer 3.3SE has 145 watts per channel class A/B mode driven by four 12AU7 tubes in the
preamp section. An Alps volume control, extra strength aluminum and steel chassis, remote control,
record out, 3 single ended inputs and one true balanced input. The robustness of the amp and build
quality can be seen from the pictures. The amp is a true dual mono design with 2 toroidal
transformers that supply power to the output transistors.
In addition to being a very well built and well sounding amp, the Bada Purer 3.3SE supports two
modes of class “A” operation that can be set via front panel switches. The modes are class “A” up to
10 watts then switch over to 160 watts A/B and up to 30 watts class “A” then switch over to 145 watts
A/B. The resulting flexibility allows you to change the sound characteristics of the amp to suit your
speaker selection / room characteristics. The more Class A, the more sweeter the sound during low
passages going to large crescendos and breathtaking dynamics in class A/B mode. More >>

Scoreboard
Bass: Solid and pretty neutral, good but not really spectacular. Mids:. Transparent, coherent and precise, yet not etchy or grainy Highs: Extended with air
around symbols, triangles- not gritty. Dynamics: Outstanding. Slams music at you when it needs to, dead quiet when it needs to be. Air around instruments:
Superb, spooky life like rendition of some images in sound stage Body and Weight: Excellent, makes vocalists come out of the speaker and stand in the
sound stage. Warm/Cold: Slightly warm. Imaging / Sound Stage: Could be better on front / back depth where it tends to narrow. Resolution / Detail: Above
average. Value: An excellent choice for the money. Although it sounds more tube-like than solid state. If you are looking for pure solid state, there are better
choices.
