Basic Amplifiers -
Basic amplifiers are amplifiers with one input  and speaker outputs.  Basic amplifiers need a preamp for volume control.  Some basic amps
are also integrated amplifiers where there "integrated" function can be turned on/off.

Integrated  Amplifiers -
Integrated amplifiers combine an amplifier and preamplifier in one package. Some integrated amplifiers can be used as basic amplifiers.
Integrated amplifiers may have one to five inputs, sub woofer outputs, preamp outputs etc..  Some integratd amplifiers are hybrids, that
is, they combine a tube preamp with solid state amplifier. Please check the specifications.

Hybrid  Integrated Amplifiers -
Hybrid Integrated amplifiers use a tube preamp and solid state amplifier. Some of them have preamp outs and other features.  Check
the product  specifications for more details.

Preamplifiers
Preamplifiers provide volume control and input selection.  Some preamps are all tube, tube with solid state regulation / rectification, all
solid state, phono preamps or all of the above. For more information, check specifications.

Headphone Amplifiers
Headphone amplifiers are versatile enough to handle various impedances.  They are tube and solid state.  Some have DACs, some do
not.  Some can also be used as preamps.  Check the specifications to find which model suits you best.

CD Players
CD players are all vacuum tube vacuum tube hybrids and solid state.  Some CD players are top loading, some are front loading like a CD
player. .

/ solid state hybrids.
Transports
Thinking of using your CD player as a transport?  Think again, CD player designer rarely put good digital transformers and clocking
devices in their coaxial outputs. These transports have superior clocks and digital transformers and will transform your DAC.

Music Servers
Music servers are the best way from both a user and sound point of view for digital playback.  Avoid wireless servers as the wireless
jitter is so severe, it will rob you of most of the music.  Look for solid state drives and USB/SD cards for music storage.

DACS - Digital to Analogue Converters
DACs or Digital to Analogue Converters come in a variety of shapes and sizes.  There are vacuum tube DACs, Solid State DACs, USB
DACs, NOS (Non-Over-Sampling) DACs,  DACs with Headphone Amps, DACs with Preamps etc..  Click the picture for the type of DAC that
suits your interests.
Tube Buffers
Tube buffers add a warm tube sound to an existing rig.  They accentuate the midrange and slightly roll off the highs.  They can make a
harsh or thin sounding set up sound rich and lively.  Click the picture for the type of Tube Buffer that suits your interests.

Interconnects
Don't spend a lot of money on interconnects.  They merely have to carry the signal with a least amount of resistance.  Most of them use
OFC copper, which is merely a commodity.  Do not pay a premium over the commodity price of OFC copper. Our interconnects differ by
copper content and connector (RCA or XLR). For digital interconnects, prudence plays.  Once again, do not spend a lot of money.  The
best interconnect is the BNC cable that your cable guy has.  Its almost always 75ohms and carries the signal well.  Click the picture for
the type of  Interconnect that suits your interests.

Speaker Cables
Like Interconnects, do not spend a lot money on speaker cables. Speaker cables have to carry current with minimum loss and once again
it is built on a commodity.  There are two kinds of speaker cables: braided and foil.

Power Cables and Filters
A power cable simply has to transfer current.  Use good power cables with amplifiers.  Filters have to provide pure AC to equipment.
Sources (CD Players, Preamps) need good filtering.   Click on the picture for a power cable or filter.

Vacuum Tubes
You can change the sound of vacuum tube equipment quite a bit by changing vacuum tubes.  As a matter of fact, dollar for dollar,
changing tubes is the best mod you can do to your equipment.  All of our tube equipment comes with suggestions for tubes that improve
the sound.  See "Tube Righteousness" on our product pages for more information.
