It is true that a CD player is only as good as its analog output stage The DOGE 6
unique design follows tube lover’s purist approach of using an all vacuum tube class
"A" output plus zero negative feedback to achieve the desired goals of wide
bandwidth and circuit linearity. There are no tube buffers, followers or op-amps
anywhere in the signal path. Unlike the more typical cathode follower output stage
found in many vacuum tube CD players, the DOGE 6 features 6 output tubes (4 X
12AX7, 2 X 12AT7) in an SRPP (Shunt Regulated Push Pull) design that is the same
circuit design found in amps and CD players costing around $5000. There are not any
semiconductors used in the circuit for rectification of the signal. The signal is fed directly
from the converters into the tube preamp.

The Doge’s 6 superior design makes its way to the digital domain with the use of a
Crystal Delta Sigma converter with incredible dynamic range and 24-bit resolution. The
output from Delta Sigma is delivered to a unique SRPP circuit design and tightly
regulated by 6 independent power supplies. Only finest 10 double- layer,
polypropylene-coupling capacitors, selected to 0,2 % tolerance are used in signal path.
This innovative approach culminates in a new standard for CD performance and a new
balance of power in digital design.

The Doge 6’s simple and elegant engineering approach is without peer. A proprietary
servo-board synchronizes the Phillips transport mechanism to a single master clock
while the Doge 6’s single-box design eliminates interface induced jitter.

The Doge 6 comes with remote, 3 RCA outputs, stand-by switch, power cord and ships
from Chicago, IL.

Bass:  Bass is tight but slightly fat in the upper bass registers   Mids:. Dynamic, warm, detailed midrange with correct tonal balance.
Tube selection critical for correct midrange rendition.  See "Tube Righteousness"
Highs:  Extended with roll off occurring at about
17KHz.
Dynamics: Excels at extending quiet orchestral passages behind a black background.  Air around instruments:  Outstanding.

Body and Weight:  Excels at pinpointing images in sound stage then creating a sense of body around a singer or soloist, where the
user can easily locate them and single them out.
Warm/Cold:  Nicely warms up the music, not too warm or too lush.  Imaging / Sound
Stage:
Outstanding. Throws instruments to the left and right of each speaker then squarely in the center.    Resolution / Detail:
Spooky rendition of music on the CD.  Makes you want to listen to all your CDs over again in case you might have missed something
Value: Compare at CD players costing $5000 or more.
