Pacific Valve Ming Da MC 3008B
A true state-of-the-art amplifier, the Ming Da MC 3008B brings a robust quality design with SET sound.  A
300B tube drives an 805  for 40 watts of clean SET power. These well constructed and beefy mono blocks
weigh in at 50 lbs a piece and are shipped in three large cartons.  The front panel sports volume control and
blue power indicator light. On the left side panel is an on/off switch and a switch that lets you choose
between 2A3 and 300B drivers.  Pacific Valve orders these with 300B tubes. On the right side panel is a an
input if the mono block is to be used as a power amp along with a switch to use the mono block as a
“straight in” basic amplifier. The rear of the unit features the IEC inlet, 4 and 8-ohm speaker outputs, gold-
plated source RCA input for preamp / power amp operation plus a pair of preamp inserts for basic amp
operation. Point-to-point wiring, ¼” black steel chassis, hand-wound transformers, ALPS potentiometer,
Solen caps, 1 X 300B, 1 x 12AU7s and 1 x 12AX7 complete the parts list. Dimensions are 50.5 X 24.5 X 29
cm

It is not difficult to describe the sound of the high powered Ming Da MC 3008B  Music just emerges without
effort. Performers and instruments become startlingly real and palpable. The Ming Da MC 3008B uses the
805, a big radio transmitter tube. When this is combined with the 300B, you get the best of both worlds -- i.e.
the purity, immediacy and low-level detail retrieval of micro power SETs with the greater output power and
speaker compatibility of push-pull designs. In the Ming DA MC 3008B the 805 provides the juice while the
300B offers its usual rep for midrange magic.

The Ming DA MC 3008B is a rugged and user-friendly amplifier. Connect a preamp to the Ming DA MC 3008B
or use the built in preamp if you only have a single source and switch between the two with the preamp /
power amp switch.  Whatever the application, the Ming DA MC 3008B is a major breakthrough in musical
transparency and SET design at an incredible price point and represent great value for the money.
