TeraDak Chameleon NOS DAC
Product Details
The latest in non over sampling (NOS) technology, the Chameleon DAC uses 16 Phillips
TDA1543 chips instead of the usual 8 found in most DACs.  The high end design
continues with an outboard power humpty that further isolates EM waves and reduces IM
distortion -all in a sleek black anodized aluminum box.

A very solid DAC for the money, the Chameleon has all the attributes of a high end DAC,
with all the sonic benefits of NOS technology. Price / performance features abound on this
DAC that uses a low jitter Wolfson EM8805 S/PDIF receiver, a TENOR TE7022L USB
receiver with a low jitter 1PPM TCXO clock and passive I/V conversion wit low pass
filtering. High quality Wima amd Mica coupling capacitors and low noise outboard power
supply complete the price / performance advantages.

The Chameleon accepts digital signals from coax, optical and USB.  USB signals are
converted to I2S before going into the 16 chip processing array.  The Chameleon outputs
analogue signal through gold plated RCA jacks.  A standard 120v IEC power cord plugs
into the power humpty and a supplied specialized cord takes power from the humpty to
the main chassis.  The Chameleon DAC accepts processed signals of 44.1 and 96K.
