The Solo 2 is a moving coil cartridge step up preamp that interfaces with your
phonograph preamplifier. The Solo 2 is a tube unit with a main preamp section and an
outboard power unit.
A high performance unit at a great price, the Solo 2 contains features found in many
high end units. Unlike other moving coil step up devices, the Solo 2 is a single-ended
design and does not use any negative feed back. The Solo 2's low noise outboard
power unit (which can be separated as much as 3 feet away) combines the best of
both worlds - achieving the dynamics of an active preamplifier with the low noise floor of
a transformer.
The Solo 2 is a flexible design and proper impedance matching is obtain by using
impedance-matching analogue modules. The modules are available in 100 ohm, 50
and 1K.
