High level vacuum tube preamp with soft start, shut off relay, remote, 4 inputs, 2
outputs, record out, (3) 12AX7 tubes and a 6X4 tube for rectification
YS Audio's modified version of their Symphonies V2R, includes upgraded caps
throughout and an upgraded power supply. Comes with remote control,4 high level
inputs, volume and balance controls, (2) Outputs.
Construction is top rate in this conventional low profile preamp. Some of its quality
features are: point-to-point wiring, Alps volume pots, R-core transformer and Wima,
Phillips and Rifa coupling caps. The gain stages are made up of 3 12AX7 tubes and
one 6X4 rectification tube with solid state regulators for the power supply. The feel of
the volume and balance control is first rate. The selector switch is relay activated and
round robins through the inputs as the switch is moved in any direction.
The use of the 6X4 rectified tube gives this preamp a wide dynamic range and a superb
tonal quality. The 6X4 / solid state rectifier combination gives this preamp solid state
like bass response with the bloom and naturalness of a fine quality tube preamp. The
tube box inside the unit is designed to be quiet as it resists RF interference from even
the most troublesome of spots.
